I didn't want a lyre that clamps on to the tuning slide, either. (The ones that you tighten with a thumb screw are awful, FYI.) So I bought one of these on a friend's recommendation. It works very well. The lyre is very secure once it's clamped on to the bell, and it can hold lots of pieces of music. My only criticisms are: 1) It's rather heavy compared to a regular lyre, and 2) It requires care to keep from scratching the bell of the trumpet with it, even though its clamps are rubber-coated. Overall, I'm quite pleased with this lyre. It's not perfect, but it's better than any of the alternatives. ![]() Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: DEG Trumpet Marching Lyre (Electronics) This is a great trumpet folder! The other lyres I had were always falling off. This one stays on very well! I would recommend this! Not a waste at all! If you are a trumpet player, please buy!!!! 1 of 2 people found the following review helpful: ![]() By Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: DEG Trumpet Marching Lyre (Electronics) I bought this for my daughter to use at band camp and marching. It seems to do the trick...she needed a lyre to put on her cellophone. |
