I wanted a short scale bass guitar and I like inexpensive items - that's a consistent theme of mine, the inexpensive part. I've got standard long scale 5-string and 4-string basses. I did some research and decided I'd try my luck on this guitar. It's hard to trust pictures but it really does look like the photo. I highly recommend this product to anybody that wants to get into bass, but has small hands (ie children.) With the Stagg 3/4 bass, you do not need to have huge strong fingers in order to play it, so you can enjoy the bass, without the frustration of not being able to reach frets. Another good aspect is the beautiful wood finish. This bass truly looks like a piece of art. If you want to get into the bass, but feel constricted due to your size, look no further than the Stagg 4-string "fusion" 3/4 Bass- Natural Satin!
