I wore out the pegs on my student violin with frequent change of strings that wore out, so I felt the peg drops would be a good investment for the care of my new orchesta violin. What I like the best about the drops is while my new violin is "settling" there isn't a wood on wood grinding noise while tuning, and the drops aren't like a glue. When I bought my new outfit, the pegs were super loose! I had to really push them hard to stay in place, and then do all my tuning with the fine tuners. Once applied, the pegs stayed wherever I twisted them to without being sticky. You might say this liquid is much too expensive, but its effect cannot be achieved by common household materials. Besides, a single bottle will last years. Just spend the couple of dollars. Think of it this way: without being properly tuned, you cannot continue playing your instrument. |
